BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2021 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME SUNRISE: 0619E SUNSET:  1636E SUNSHINE GIVING WAY TO CLOUDS, BUT SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES.... A mix of sun and clouds this morning has given way to overcast skies early this afternoon. A solid layer of cirrostratus has overtaken the sky, thus the lack of sunshine is making it feel a bit chilly out there along with a bit of a breeze and dry air. The wind started off on the light side this morning, but has freshened this afternoon with frequent gusts over 20mph occurring. The direction has been backing a bit from the west-southwest to southwest. The clouds and southwest wind flow along with falling air pressure suggests a cold front is approaching the area. As mentioned, the air mass is dry with the dew point in the low 30s. As a matter of fact, today is the first time so far this early cool season we've measured a dew point below freezing! Visibility has been excellent for the most part today, decreasing from around 80 miles early this morning to 70 miles early this afternoon.   The high so far today is 56F, 1 degree above the normal max of 55F. The low since midnight is 40F, 2 degrees above the normal low of 38F.   -------------------------------------------------------------- Today's Observations: 7 A.M.
