BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA MONDAY, JUNE 28, 2021 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME SUNRISE: 0410E SUNSET:  1925E HAZY, HOT, AND HUMID ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL AS A HEAT- WAVE IS NOW UNDERWAY.... The second heat-wave of the month (and season) is now underway as today marks the first of likely 3 consecutive days of temperatures getting to 90F or above. So far today we've reached 92F degrees. The record high for today is 95F set in 1991. We probably won't make it, but it'll be close. The other big issue in addition to the heat is the oppressive humidity. The dew point has been holding in the low 70s all day, helping the heat index, or the feels like temperature, to reach and at times exceed 100F. There is a southwest breeze that's been averaging around 11mph since 7 A.M. that is helping a little bit with some very minor relief. The peak gust thus far has been 25mph. The high temperature so far today is 92F, this is 13 degrees above the normal maximum of 79F. The low temperature so far today is 70F, which is 9 degrees above the normal minimum of 60F. As of yesterday June 27th, the month of June is ranking as the 2nd warmest on record with a 24-Hour adjusted mean of 68.6F. We're likely heading for 1st place with 2 more very warm days ahead as we close out the month. Here is the list of current rankings via our Chief Scientist Mike Iacono...
