BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2020 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME WARM AND HUMID WEATHER CONTINUES WITH PASSING SHOWERS.... The warm and humid air mass continues over the region with dew points in the low to mid 60s today. This moisture ladened air is responsible for bringing a few showers through the area the last couple of days. Yesterday we had a shower move through mid afternoon bringing with it 0.05" of much needed rain, albeit not nearly enough for drought relief. Another brief shower rolled through this afternoon just after the 1 P.M. observation dropping a paltry 0.01" of rain. Looking forward to the prospects of more rain tonight and tomorrow, we'll see how it pans out. Despite the little bit of rainfall, we are still under the influence of a severe drought, with some parts of the region in extreme drought. The rainfall total for the month is up to 0.59", but this is still more than 3 inches below normal. For the year to date, we are 5.39 below normal. The high so far today is 76F, 9 degrees above the daily normal max of 67F. The low since midnight is 62F, which is 13 degrees above the normal low of 49F. Today's Observations: 7 A.M.
