BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME ONCE AGAIN WINDY AND CHILLY, BUT MORE SUNSHINE.... Today is yet another chilly day with gusty winds. The biggest difference is there is considerably more sun today after clouds moved out this morning. A weak disturbance moved through this morning with clouds and a lot of virga, but no precipitation was observed here at the hill. The low hanging clouds and virga with brighter skies in the backdrop made for quite the picturesque view early this morning! Winds were gusty ahead of this disturbance blowing out of southwest and then west-southwest. Then the wind diminished for about an hour this morning before shifting to west-northwest and increasing once again. Gusts have been frequently 30-35 mph with a peak gust of 46 mph occurring at 9:57 A.M. The air has dried out considerably as well following the disturbance. The dew point was around 30 early this morning, but has dropped into the mid teens early this afternoon. Visibility has been excellent all day, holding at around 80 miles. The high so far today is 43F, which is 11 degrees below the daily normal maximum of 54F. The low since midnight is 31F, which is 6 degrees below the daily normal minimum of 37F.
