BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA MONDAY, JUNE 22, 2020 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME NOT AS WARM, BUT STILL HUMID WITH AN ONSHORE FLOW TODAY.... Isolated thunderstorms developed yesterday along a sea breeze boundary. Blue Hill was lucky enough to get into one of them. This storm brought a period of downpours which measured 0.83" both in the ASOS and standard rain gauges. A modest wind gust to 33 mph also occurred as the outflow boundary of the storm pushed through. This gust was quite the anomaly for the day compared to how light winds were outside of this storm. The average speed for the day was only 7.5 mph! Today began with dense fog and a touch of drizzle this morning. By around 11 A.M the fog lifted and the stratus deck opened up allowing warm sunshine to finally come out. Temperatures quickly responded, rising from the mid 60s into the low to mid 70s. However this is still considerably cooler than the 90 degree temperatures we've recorded over the last 2 weekend days. Despite the dose of rain yesterday, we are still officially in an abnormally dry pattern. Our monthly deficit improved some, but we're still 0.52" below normal. For the year we're still 3.39" below normal!   The high so far today is 75 degrees, this is 2 degrees below the daily normal high of 77F. The low since midnight is 65F, which is 6 degrees above the daily normal low of 59F. Today's Observations: 7 A.M.
