Today we experienced abundant sunshine in the morning, with skies becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon hours. Visibility was 20 miles on average due to a significant haze. However, visibility opened up to 35 miles following the 1 P.M. observation. A distant cumulonimbus cloud was seen to the northwest at the 10 P.M. observation, later seen to be a thunderstorm near Nashua, NH. Great Blue Hill is officially in an abnormally dry pattern. The on-going drought places us at 1.23 inches below the monthly normal, yet over 4 inches below the average for the year!   The high so far today is 89 degrees, this is 12 degrees above the daily normal high of 77F.
