BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2020 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME FOGGY START, SPECTACULAR FINISH ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL... We observed sector visibility early this morning- 40 miles to the north and only 2 miles to the south. That fog was quickly eroded by increasing sunshine and a drying westerly wind. That wind direction allowed dew points to find their way from the mid-60s to the mid-50s by early afternoon yielding an increase in visibility to 50 miles. We only noted a max gust of 12 MPH through much of the morning, but pushing to 29 MPH by 1PM. Yesterday's storms delivered a healthy 0.62 inches of rain ushering us out of a monthly deficit into positive territory (+0.10 inches), though this appears it will be short-lived given the precipitation outlook. The high so far today is 80 degrees, this is 6 degrees above the daily normal high of 74F. The low since midnight is 66F, which is 10 degrees above the daily normal low of 56F.
