BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2020 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME SUNNY, WARM, AND DRY WITH A WESTERLY BREEZE.... All in all not bad for the second week of June. Plenty of sunshine today accompanied by a low dew point and a warm westerly breeze. Visibility has been 50-60 miles with a bit of haziness caused by pollen. Could actually see the clouds of pine pollen coming off the trees this morning. While the weather has been pleasant for outdoor activities, it hasn't been good in terms of the lack of rainfall. Thanks to a heavy thunderstorm on Saturday, the monthly departure recovered to the positive side, however for the year we're still running 2.75" below normal. We'll be watching this closely as we move deeper into summer as the risk for drought conditions could increase. The high so far today is 75 degrees, this is 2 degrees above the daily normal high of 73F. The low since midnight is 51F, which is 4 degrees below the daily normal low of 55F.
