BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2020 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME CHILLY, WET, AND FOGGY WEATHER CONTINUES ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL... We received more beneficial precipitation overnight clocking in at 0.33 inches. This was in the form of rain. Winds briefly switched over to the north overnight allowing temperatures to dip just slightly below freezing, and with that came some very minor ice accretion at the 7AM observation - it quickly melted away however as temperatures rose above 32F shortly thereafter.  Visibility was predominantly 1/16th of a mile in very soggy and raw conditions - light rain, chilly temperatures, thick fog and generally light winds. The max gust by the 1PM observation was 31 MPH (escalating quickly though to 55 MPH around 2PM post-observation time as a warm front punched through -it also brought a ceasing of rainfall,  pokes of sun, warming temperatures, and increasing visibility!). The high so far today is 45F, 10 degrees above the normal high of 35F. The low since midnight is 31F, 13 degrees above the normal low of 18F. PRELIMINARY STATS FOR JANUARY 2020 TEMPERATURE, Deg.
