HOT AND BREEZY WITH A BIT LOWER HUMIDITY...

We've observed an abundance of sunshine today with
a busy southwest wind that has gradually veered
around to the west. Gusts of 30-35 mph have been
common today with an official peak of 36 mph so far.

This gusty west wind is a result of air mixing
down from aloft, which has helped to dry the air
out a bit today. The dew point started the day in
the low 70s, but has since dropped to around 60
by early this afternoon.

A drying west wind also helps to boost the
temperature. The high so far today is 90 degrees.
This is 9 degrees above the daily normal high
of 81F. The low since midnight is 75F, which is
12 degrees above the daily normal low of 63F.

It should be noted that if the low temperature
fails to drop below 75F before midnight tonight,
this will establish a new record high minimum for
the date. The previous record is 74F degrees set
back in 2018!
