BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2015 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   WARM, DRY WEATHER TODAY AFTER RECORD RAINS EARLY YESTERDAY   Heat has been building into the region today, with temperatures climbing into the mid-80s this afternoon after a fairly cool morning low of 61F. Bright sunshine has accompanied the warmth, with a few cumulus clouds only enough to dot the Sun from time to time. Winds have been light today, from the northwest most of the day but with an occasional on-shore component.   Contrary to yesterday, it has been a dry day at the summit today.  During the overnight hours early yesterday morning, heavy rain and thunderstorms brought a new daily record rainfall for 7/10, with a storm total of 2.03 inches.  A little of this rain fell late on 7/9, so the exact record will be determined in the coming days.  Numerous rainfall events in the past several weeks have nearly erased our yearly precipitation deficit, now just over an inch.    Today's Observations: 7 A.M.
