BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY  MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2015    ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME UNSEASONABLE COLD CONTINUES, CLOUDS THICKEN OVERNIGHT WITH SNOW ENTERING THE REGION BY LATE MORNING Yesterday's maximum temperature of 32F was not enough to stop February's unseasonable cold trend, with another day falling below average. The average temperature for the month now sits at 11.6 degrees below normal. With little warm up in sight before the end of the month, February 2015 will likely end up in the top 10 coldest months on record here at Blue Hill Observatory. Through the 25th, the 24-hour corrected mean temperature for the month is 17.0 deg F. February 2015 is also  the snowiest February on record, as well as the  snowiest month on record. This past storm brings us even closer to first place and continues to push our monthly record higher.
