This was the most substantial rainfall since 0.56 in fell way back on October 6. A cold front swept through the area late yesterday morning, and the temperature dropped steadily from the 60s down to the morning low today of 31F. Temperatures are about 15-20 degrees cooler than yesterday. Plenty of clouds and even a few isolated light showers developed this morning and are persisting into the afternoon. A brief, light rain shower provided a trace of precipitation on the summit around 1:30 P.M. EST. The cloud cover is also helping to keep temperatures on the cool side this afternoon.
