BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY MONDAY, AUGUST 26, 2013 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   WARMER AND MUCH MORE HUMID AIR ARRIVES TODAY VERY LIGHT SHOWERS 8-9 A.M. EDT LEAVE GROUND DRY  DRY SPELL CONTINUES THROUGH 16 DAYS   A large high pressure system brought pleasant dry weather with rising temperatures on Sunday. The center of highest pressure passed over the region Sunday morning with our barometric pressure reaching close to 30.40 inches at 10:20 A.M. EDT. After a maximum of 82 degrees Sunday afternoon the temperature fell rapidly for a short time early last evening (6 degrees) from 79 to 73 degrees in hour.  Readings leveled off in the mid 60's overnight and were quite a bit milder than the 55 and 57-degree reading Saturday and Sunday morning respectively.  An un- usually chilly minimum temperature of 42 degrees was recorded at Martha’s Vineyard Airport early Sunday.   The arrival of warmer and especially more humid weather today was borne by increasing southwest winds with gusts reaching close to 30 MPH by early afternoon. The dew point had risen to the lower 60's. There was a very minimal trace of rainfall with the change of air mass early today.   Today's Observations:   7 A.M.  Weather: Broken altostratus/altocumulus, overcast altocumulus, dark sky WSW-N, bright spots in overcast distant NE-ESE, small bright spot in overcast distant W, showers of rain WSW-N, light rain shower began 6:57 A.M.
