As of 12PM this afternoon, approximately 0.53 inches of rain has been measured, which more than doubles the current monthly total for August. Rainfall became especially heavy starting around 11:30 AM EDT, although no thunder was heard near the summit.   Meanwhile, after briefly dipping into the 60s overnight, the air temperature has hovered at 71F for most of the day today. Winds have been moderate out of the S-SSE, averaging 14 MPH since 8:00 AM EDT and gusting to as high as 30 MPH.
