The total precipitation from the rain storm that began Thursday night and ended this morning was 1.02 inches in the standard gage. The rain ended as a brief rain shower around 7 AM this morning. Winds have been strong much of the day with a peak gust to 55 mph W occurring at 10:50 AM. This was matched by a gust to 55 mph W at 2:13 PM. This is the highest gust for the entire month so far. The peak gust for the entire year to date is only 58 mph S on Feb 27th. An intensifying storm in the Canadian Maritimes is racing northeastward; this brought our lowest pressure (about 29.09 inches just after 3 AM) for the year since 29.03 was observed on Jan 7th, 2009. The dew point is dropping into the upper 20s as of early afternoon, and the visibility has climbed to about 80 miles as of 1 PM.
