BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 2009 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME THE RETURN OF THE SUN The Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorder has officially recorded the first bright sunshine on Great Blue Hill since last Saturday, June 21. As of 2:00 PM, the sun card has 6 minutes of burn (or one tenth of an hour) for the 11 AM to noon (EDT) hour today. The monthly sunshine percent dropped to 28% after yesterday ended as the fourth consecutive day and the 10th day of the month of June with no sunshine. The unreachable record low for June is 25% in 1903 but we could wind up with the 2nd least sunshine for June (June, 1998, had 36%) even if we get 50% of the possible sunshine during the last days of the month.
