HEAVIEST RAIN FELL TO OUR SOUTH AS 
TEMPERATURES DROP THROUGH THE 50'S
 
An area of rain, some of it heavy, weakened as it
moved eastward through southern New England during
this morning with the heaviest amounts falling to our
south. Less than one tenth of an inch fell here at
Blue Hill so the month remains an inch drier than
the June average to date. Rainfall totals of one half
inch or more fell in coastal Rhode Island and Connecticut
while most of Massachusetts had less than one tenth
up to two tenths of an inch. 
Much cooler air did move in this morning with temp-
eratures falling from 59F at midnight to 53F by noon.
