BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007    ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 26TH...91 DEGREES ALSO HIGHEST TEMPERATURE SO LATE IN THE SEASON MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 67 DEGREES EQUALED RECORD HIGH MINIMUM SEPTEMBER SUNSHINE NEAR RECORD HIGH PERCENT   Several new records were set yesterday.  The maximum temperature of 91 degrees broke the old record for the date of 87 in 1958. We also recorded our latest occurrence of 90 degrees for any year on record; the previous record was 93 degrees on September 23 in 1895 and 1914. Also, the minimum temperature of 67 degrees equaled the record high minimum for the date set in 1920.    More records could be set today. A minimum temperature of 65 degrees recorded this morning would break 63 for a high minimum set in 1930. In addition, today's record high temperature of 84 degrees set in 1998 might be within range.    Sunshine for the month stands at 75% of possible, normal is 55% and the record for all of September is 74%.    Today's observations:   7 A.M.   Weather: Partial obscurement, fog 5/10ths Temperature: 67F, Dew point: 65F, Wind: S at 10 kts Sea-level pressure: 30.03 inches Hg, rising Visibility: 3 miles, fog, and visibility increasing   6-hour min temp: 65F 24-hour rainfall: 0.00 inches BHO SA 1155 –X 3F 168/67/65/1710/003/ F5 VSBY INCRSNG/ 51005 10067 20065    10 A.M.   Weather: Partial obscurement, haze 1/10th, thin broken cirrus Temperature: 77F, Dew point: 67F, Wind: S at 10 kts Wind: Variability SSE-SSW Sea-level pressure: 30.01 inches Hg, falling Visibility: 9 miles, hazy BHO SA 1455 –X 220 SCT 250 –BKN 9 164/77/67/1710/001/ H1 HAZY WND 15V21/ 8/001 58004   1 P.M.   Weather: High overcast cirrus partly thin   Temperature: 82F, Dew point: 67F, Wind: S at 12G18 kts Wind: Variability SSE-SSW Sea-level pressure: 29.99 inches Hg, falling Visibility: 9 miles, hazy   6-hour max. temp. 82F BHO SA 1755 E220 BKN 250 OVC 9 155/82/67/1712G18/999/ BINOVC NW THN SPTS IOVC HAZY WND 15V21/ 8/007 58009 10082 20067   WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26   TEMPERATURE (DEGREES F) MAX.....91    NORMAL.....68 MIN.....67    NORMAL.....50 MEAN....79    NORMAL.....59 DEPARTURE FROM 30-YEAR NORMAL........+20 TOTAL DEPARTURE FOR THE MONTH........+84  [+3.0 DEGREES/DAY]   PEAK GUST AND AVERAGE WIND SPEED (MPH) PEAK WIND GUST FOR YESTERDAY..............32 S   AT  3:27 P.M.                       AEROVANE...............27 S   AT  3:27 P.M.                        ASOS...................32 S   AT  3:27 P.M.                     DAVIS..................36 S   AT  2:30 P.M.
