The frontal passage and accompanying wind shift put an end to three consecutive days of record high temperatures from 4-6 October. Maximum readings of 84, 86 and 83 degrees were all at record levels with the latter equaling the record for 6 October.     Rain showers, moderate to heavy at times early this morning, brought the most significant rainfall since September 11th. Only a little over one third of an inch of rainfall had been recorded during the 26-day period until 0.48 inch fell in just a couple hours this morning.
