BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2007 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   SURGE OF WARM AIR ARRIVES EARLY THIS MORNING ON STRONG SOUTH WINDS GUSTING TO 45 TO 50 MPH  LIGHT RAINFALL-- JUST 0.10 INCH FOR 24 HOURS THRU 7 AM   Rapidly increasing south winds late last evening sent the thermometer soaring from the 40's during the afternoon all the way up to 58 degrees by midnight and 61 degrees in this morning's pre-dawn hours.  A dry cold frontal passage occurred by 10 A.M. this morning with south winds veering to west with gusts to near 40 MPH.   The rainfall with this weather system was quite light with only one tenth of an inch during the 24 hours ending early this morning.  Only 0.04 fell overnight while we were in the tropical airmass when a light shower occurred around 2 a.m. Just over one quarter inch was our total rainfall accompanying this weather system here while other locations in southern New England received up to a half inch or more.    Today's observations:   7 A.M.   Weather: Scattered clouds, stratocumulus, dense cirrus  Temperature: 58F, Dew point: 52F, Wind: SSW at 12 kts Sea-level pressure: 29.65 inches Hg, rising Visibility: 45 miles 6-hour min temp: 58F 6-hour rainfall 0.04 in. 24-hour rainfall 0.10 in.
