BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY SUNDAY, JUNE 3, 2007   ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   "BACK DOOR" COLD FRONT PASSAGE EARLY THIS MORNING TWO DAYS OF 87-DEGREE HEAT, JUNE 1-2, NO RECORDS SET THUNDERSTORMS BRING ONLY VERY SMALL AMOUNTS OF RAINFALL     The passage of a "back door" type cold front (from the northeast early today ended unusually warm temperatures for very early June. A temperature of 68 degees very early today had dropped to 57 degrees before 9 a.m. EDT. A boom of thunder was heard to the south just after 8 a.m. EDT from a line of showers and thunderstorms that were occurring along an east-west line about 20 miles to our south.    High temperatures reached 87 degrees on the past two days falling only a few days short of the records of 90 and 91 degrees for June 1 and 2 respectively.    Thunderstorms were recorded during both of the two past late afternoons but rainfall amounts were small including 0.12 inch on June 1st and just 0.02 inch yesterday.
