The high temperature has climbed to the mid-80s by early afternoon today with the dew point near 70. Cumulonimbus have formed in a line west to northwest of the Observatory with numerous rain shafts visible in those directions at mid-day. Lightning and thunder were observed at 12:58 PM EDT, though no rain as occurred here during the day through 2 PM EDT. A rain shower brought 0.37 inch of rain in less than an hour just after midnight.
