This morning at 7 a.m. with combined wind and temperature was just about the coldest feeling morning of the winter here atop Blue Hill. The temperature of 5 degrees and sustained wind of 25 MPH gusting to 44 MPH gave a windchill temperature of close to -18 degrees. The low reading of 5 degrees equals our coldest of February to date which also occurred earlier this month on the 5th. As the Arctic air was arriving late yesterday peak wind gusts reached close to 40 MPH by mid-late evening and the temperature had dropped to 16 degrees by midnight. Around 8 a.m. this morning our peak wind gust of 51 MPH was recorded by the Aerovane wind system while 58 MPH was registered by Maximum, Inc., Merlin recorder. Today's observations: 7 A.M.
