Today will be the 7th consecutive day with no precipitation and below normal temperatures. The month is now about 6 deg F colder than average. However, the recent cold has only offset less than one-third of the warmth that occurred through the first six weeks of winter. A total cumulative temperature departure of +440 degrees was recorded for December through mid-January. Since mid-January, the cumulative temperature departure has been -129 degrees. Only 0.53 inch of precipitation has been measured over the past 24 days since January 17th. The seasonal snowfall through February 9th remains 7.3 inches. This is the lowest snowfall on record this late into the season, with the previous record being 8.1 inches through this date during the 1936-1937 season, which ended with a final seasonal total of only 12.6 inches.
