SECOND COLDEST DAY OF WINTER TO DATE AVERAGED 11 DEGREES YESTERDAY
WEST WINDS REACHED A PEAK GUST OF 61 MPH YESTERDAY AFTERNOON 
 
Yesterday was the second coldest day of this winter to date 
with a high of 16 and low of 5 degrees; the mean temperature
of 11 degrees was 15 degrees colder than average.
 
Yesterday was not nearly as cold as January 26th with a high of
only 11 degrees and low of 1 below zero but felt probably as cold
or colder due to the low windchills. Sustained winds reached around
45 MPH and the peak gust of 61 MPH yesterday from the west occurred 
just after 4 p.m. By comparison, on January 26th our peak gust was
only 38 MPH WNW.
