The total of 0.23 inch melted precipitation late Friday into very early this morning fell as rain from 8:30 to 10:30 PM, mixed with snow for a short time, then continued as snow through about 1 AM. A total of 0.7 of crusty new snow was measured on the snow boards this morning. The temperature was 33 during the rain, 32 during the snow and it held at 31 through 4 AM before dropping to the morning low of 21 at 8 AM. Drier air has been moving in all day and the dew point has dropped to 5 deg F as of 1 PM today, with the visibility climbing to 70 miles. The ASOS wind vane has been frozen since about 2 AM this morning, so KMQE has not been reporting wind speed or direction since that time. Our other wind systems are functioning properly.
