BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY MONDAY, AUGUST 27, 2007   ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   VERY SUNNY, COOLER AND MUCH DRIER TODAY AUGUST MAY BECOME 2ND DRIEST ON RECORD   A very welcome clear, cooler and much drier airmass which began arriving yesterday replaced the record equaling 93-degree heat of Saturday, August 25th.  The humidity was particularly oppressive with dew points reaching the low to mid-70's and heat indexes of 103 to 105 degrees. By comparison, today's temperatures have reached the upper 70's with dew points falling to lower 50's this afternoon.     Only a brief 15-minute very light rain shower accompanied the gradual air mass change with the passage of a cold front yesterday.    Our August rainfall continues at only 0.62 inch, far below the normal of 4.06 inches.  The month could slide into second place in the ranking of driest Augusts.
