BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2007   ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   VERY COOL AND DRY CONDITIONS FOR LATE AUGUST RECORD HIGH PEAK WIND GUST FOR AUGUST 18TH   Considerable high cloudiness is dimming the sunshine early this afternoon, This combined with a northeast wind off the cool Atlantic Ocean, will cause today's temperatures to average out at least a half dozen degrees cooler than normal.  Today will be the third consecutive day with temperatures averaging well below normal.  The above normal temperatures for the month are quickly falling to near normal now.   Rainfall continues to be very light for the month with only a little more than a half inch.  The showers and thunderstorms late Friday and very early Saturday morning left on 0.15 inch.  The month of August is now close to being 2 inches drier than average to date.   A new record high wind gust for August 18th of 46 MPH from the WNW occurred on Saturday at 10:46 a.m. EDT.
