The dewpoint temperature reached an oppressive 73 degrees by noon and low cloudiness was stubborn to clear away. This allowed an initially slow but eventually rapid increase in the air temperature to 84 degrees early this afternoon. Peak wind gusts reached 37 MPH from the S late this morning.
