AVERAGED 6.5 DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL FOR FIRST WEEK... PRECIPITATION BELOW NORMAL AND SUNSHINE WELL ABOVE THE NORMAL Temperatures were approaching the high 40's early this afternoon despite no sunshine and will make this another well above normal early February day. As of 1 p.m. a high of 47 and low of 36 gives us a mean of 42 or 15 degrees above normal. This will send the month up to 7.6 degrees WARMER THAN NORMAL. This is similar to January when the first week of the month averaged 8.5 degrees warmer than normal and we all know what happened during the second half of that month. Temperatures plunged more than ten degrees colder than normal! Sunshine has been abundant this month except for a couple of cloudy days. There have been two days with 100% of the possible sunshine while 99% was recorded on a third day. So, far we have 65% of the possible bright sunshine for the month of February to date...
