BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY THURSDAY, APRIL 28, 2005 ALL TIMES EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED TODAY'S DISCUSSION.....at 11 A.M. MORE RAINFALL OVERNIGHT, A BIT OF A SURPRISE... Just when we thought we were going to escape yesterday's event with only around a quarter inch of rain, more rain worked into the area overnight dropping another 0.40". The 24 hour total ending 8am this morning was 0.65" in the standard gauge. This brings the monthly precip total to 4.17", which is now about a quarter of an inch above normal for the month to date. With more rain expected on Saturday, it appears the month may end up slightly on the wet side despite the long dry spell during mid month. On a personal note, today marks my last day here at Blue Hill after 8 years of service to the Observatory. It has been a wonderful time for me and I will greatly miss being up here. I would like to thank everyone here at Blue Hill for allowing me the opportunity to work here for so many years. I would also like to thank the many people who have sent me emails over the years as well, I've enjoyed the interaction and education! - Matt TODAY'S OBSERVATIONS 4/28/2005 THU 8 A.M.
