JUNE TEMP. STILL AVERAGING 5 DEGREES COOLER THAN NORMAL... ONLY THREE DAYS HAVE AVERAGED WARMER THAN NORMAL GUSTY THUNDERSTORM LAST EVENING.... A TENTH OF RAIN IN 5 MINUTES... Yesterday was the 6th consecutive day to average cooler than normal as this very cool month of June continues. Just three days have averaged warmer than normal this month to date. Two thunderstorms recorded last evening. The first one brought a peak gust to 41 kts on the 420C wind system or 47 MPH W at 9:11 P.M. EDT. Other systems had the following: ASOS, 45 MPH (270 deg); Maestro, 44 MPH; AWS 43 MPH W; Aero, 43 MPH W; Merlin, 41 MPH W. All times were 9:11 P.M. EDT. A heavy rain shower followed with 0.10 in just 5 minutes ending at 9:20 p.m. This equaled our maximum 5-minute amount for the month to date set just yesterday, June 16th, ending at 6:16 P.M. The rain ended by 9:35 P.M. EDT. with a total of 0.16 recorded for the standard gage and ASOS. The second thunderstorm around 10:30 P.M. brought 0.04 inch of rainfall in just 3 minutes between 10:40 and 10:43 P.M. A report of pea sized hail was received from Milton just a few miles to our northeast with this storm. There were no wind gusts with the second storm.
