BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY, MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02186 ELEVATION 635 FT. ABOVE MSL....10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA MONDAY AUGUST 05 2002 DAILY DISCUSSION... 8/05/2002.....2 P.M. After some spotty morning showers, we are under party cloudy skies. However, nothing recorded here at Blue Hill. Dewpoints have been in the oppressive range with readings in the lower to mid 70's here at the Observatory with temperatures in the 80's. We have endured a long string of uncomfortable weather with high temperatures reaching 90 or above for 5 of the last 6 days. Today may make 6 of 7 as our temperature has the potential to reach 90 degrees once again. Wind has dropped off considerably as we have not seen a day with average wind speed over 10 mph since July! We cannot think of a span this long where average speeds have been this low recently. OBSERVATIONS FOR TODAY.....8/05/02 8 A.M.
