The rainfall of 0.51 was the first significant amount so far this month and brought the monthly total to 0.74 inch or 1.18 inches less than normal. All of the measurable rain fell before midnight Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday. A trace of rain was recorded early this morning. Rainfall was much heavier to our east with 0.96 at Hingham weather station located 10 miles east of the Observatory.
