DAILY DISCUSSION....1 P.M. 3/30/2001 ANOTHER MAJOR STORM BRINGS SOME SNOW, HEAVY RAIN, AND STRONG WINDS... Rain began here on the summit between 11pm and midnight last night. It eventually mixed with and changed to snow during the pre-dawn hours accumulating to 0.5 IN. By 5am rain was mixing back in with the snow, this rain/snow mix continued until about 9:30 this morning. Periods of heavy rain has been falling since. Total rainfall through 1pm this afternoon stands at 1.67" from the Standard Gauge. Winds have been increasing all morning reaching gusts to 55 MPH ENE at 1:23pm this afternoon.
