Today dawned with a morning low of only 67 degrees here on the summit, thus signally the beginning of the steam heat. By 11 AM the mercury had already soared to 85 degrees. As of this writing, 12:15 PM, it's 89 degrees, so looks like lower 90s will be easily obtained today. Dewpoints, which have been on the pleasant side for the last week or so, has climbed back toward the mid 60s. Of interest... on this date back in 1975, Blue Hill recorded a temperature of 101 degrees. This is the highest temperature ever recorded here, however we were able to do it twice, with a second (or should I say the first) 101 degree reading coming on August 10, 1949.
