DAILY DISCUSSION....2 P.M. 4/25/2001 A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS ESTABLISHED FOR APRIL 24TH... THE MAXIMUM OF 82 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 79 DEGREES FOR THE DATE SET IN 1885. The minimum temp. of 49 degrees was NOT a record high minimum. The record remains 50 degrees set in 1934 and 1958. On April 22, a high temperature of 85 degrees equaled the record for the date set in 1977. A trace of rain fell in about a ten minute light rain shower around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The monthly total remains at only 1.58 inches or - 1.69 inches below normal. A peak gust to 42 MPH WNW was recorded by Aerovane on the windshift at about 6:30 p.m. and again just after 9 p.m. The official peak for the day will be 39 MPH WNW at 6:37 p.m. as recorded by the NWS 420C chart recorder. Maximum, Inc. Merlin recorded a peak of 47 MPH NW... ASOS wind speed data returns to normal after repairs this morning.... anemometer.
