On Thursday, June 23rd, Blue Hill Observatory will host a lecture and private reception to showcase a sample of the Blue Hill Collection of Historical Instruments at Harvard University. It will be held at the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, 1 Oxford Street, Science Center, Room 136, Cambridge beginning with a lecture at 4:30 p.m. followed by a wine and Horsd'oeuvres reception and viewing of the Galleries from 5 to 7 p.m. TICKET SALES WILL CLOSE FRIDAY AT NOON. The Blue Hill Instruments that will be viewed are only a small part of this amazing collection of over 20,000 scientific objects dating back from about the year 1400 to the present. Attendees will learn about the 200 plus Blue Hill Observatory instruments that were rescued by Harvard Professor David Wheatland while touring two remarkable exhibits showcasing some of the most valuable and historic instruments in the Harvard collection.
