BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY SATURDAY, JULY 15, 2017   ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME AFTERNOON SKIES SEE BREAKS IN CLOUD COVER, TEMPS REACH 74F BY 1:00PM EST Overcast conditions continued this morning during the first two observations.  The stratocumulus and stratus layers began to break before noon to give us some sunshine and blue skies.  With the breaks in cloud cover, temperatures were able to rise to 74F by 1:00PM after an overnight low of 59F which occurred before midnight last night.  Winds were very light this morning with near calm conditions.  They began to pick up in the afternoon, but the peak gust for the day is still just 10 MPH.   The high temperature on Friday of 63F was just one degree warmer than the record low maximum for the date of 62F set in 1937.
