BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY FRIDAY, JULY 22, 2016 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME HOT, DRY WEATHER CONTINUES WITH HIGHEST TEMPERATURES OF THE YEAR After reaching 89F yesterday, the temperature had already risen to 94F by the 1:00 observation this afternoon, the warmest temperature of the year so far. This morning's low fell to only 70F. While these temperatures are impressive, today's record of 99F is well out of reach. Dew points have crept into the mid 60s today, more humid than recent days but not quite to oppressive levels. Yesterday was another dry day, with our monthly rainfall deficit nearing two inches and our yearly deficit over seven inches. Mid and high level clouds were numerous to start the day, but have been largely replaced by cumulus that began to bubble up by mid-morning.
