BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY  MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2015      ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   MONDAY SNOW SHOWERS AMOUNT TO JUST A TRACE,  SUNSHINE, CLOUDS ACCOMPANY MODERATING TEMPERATURES TODAY Snow showers which started and stopped several times yesterday amounted to just a trace of new snow. The snow fell lightly and at times intermittently during the day Monday, limiting visibility to less than 10 miles at times. Temperatures slowly climbed to the lower 40s, maxing out at 43F around 3:30 PM EST as sun tried to poke through the clouds. With temperature largely above freezing yesterday, the snow pack dropped an  inch to 10 inches of snow on the ground this morning at the 7:00 AM EST observation. Clear skies this morning gave way to approaching stratocumulus, and by the 1:00 PM EST observation the fringe of the next approaching system was visible to the south and west. High cirrus and altocumulus were invading to the south, though visibility remained high at 70 miles in all directions. The maximum temperature reading by this time was 46F.
