An overnight low of 9F was recorded just before 5:00 AM EST this morning, marking the third time this season lows have reached the single digits or colder. For a fifth day in a row, daily temperatures have remained below the norm, now taking the monthly temperature departure to 3.6  degrees below the norm so far this January. By the 1:00 PM EST observation, mid-level cloud cover had been building throughout the day.  Winds have decreased to around 7 knots as temperatures have climbed into the mid 20s with a high of 26 at  the observatory.
