BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY  MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, 2015      ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   SUNSHINE AND CLEAR SKIES TO RING IN APRIL,  MARCH ENDS COLDER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL Showers stay to our south last evening, keeping conditions dry for the end of March. Clearing skies overnight allowed temperatures to drop to a minimum of 26F, some 6 degrees below today's daily normal low.  Mostly clear skies and good visibility have prevailed today, with temperatures rising to 42F by the 1:00 PM EST observation. The month of March averaged 4.3 degrees colder than normal, and also finished 2.33 inches of total liquid precipitation drier than normal. Snowfall however, was just about normal, with 13.3 inches falling, just 0.6 inches above the norm. Two significant records were broken during the month of  March, including most notably, the snowiest season on record here at Blue Hill Observatory in 130 years.
