MAXIMUM OF 85F REACHED ON GREAT BLUE HILL ON MONDAY
 
Yesterday's maximum of 85F now takes the reigns as the warmest
day of the year so far, also only 3 degrees off from the daily
record of 88F set in 2001. Humidity stayed fairly low throughout
the day yesterday, with dew points largely staying in the 40s
while temperatures soared to the 80s by 11:00 AM EST.
 
A swift cold front sent the mercury tumbling 15 degrees between
10:00-11:00 PM EST last night, with winds shifting from SW to NE
and gusting to a peak of 39 MPH.
 
With a much cooler flow from offshore today, temperatures have
remained in the upper 40s to mid 50s under mostly cloudy conditions.
By 1:00 PM EST showers were visible distant NNW with stratocumulus
and altostratus thickening.
