BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY  MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY MONDAY, JULY 28, 2014   ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME SEVERE WEATHER MOVES THROUGH THE REGION ONCE MORE,  BRINGING WIND, HEAVY RAIN, LIGHTNING AND A CONFIRMED TORNADO IN REVERE It's been a busy weather morning in the Boston Metro area and here at Blue Hill as storms strengthened and moved NE. Only 0.10 inches of new rain fell as a thunderstorm that began at 7:37 AM EST here at Blue Hill moved just to our  W moving NE. Both our RM Young and NWS ASOS anemometers clocked 40 MPH from the SSE around 8:08 AM EST this morning as the storm began to clear the summit. A Severe Thunderstorm, Flash Flood and finally a Tornado Warning were issued with this cell as it moved just N and W of the city.  Fog that was in place since early this morning and was reducing visibility to 1/4 of a mile lifted and cleared following the end of the thunderstorm. Since that time skies have been mostly to partly cloudy with some CB and TCU visible at times in the distance. At the time of this report a Severe Thunderstorm Watch had been issued for a majority of interior New England, including our station.   Today's Observations: 7 A.M.
