CLOUDY THIS MORNING WITH SOME CLEARING THIS AFTERNOON
VERY LIGHT WINDS YESTERDAY AND AGAIN TODAY

A little bit of sunshine was recorded in the early hours of this morning, but
much of the morning was spent under mostly cloudy skies, primarily composed of
multiple layers of altocumulus clouds.  In addition, a few light rain showers
occurred during the mid-morning hours, although they provided only a trace of
rainfall.  By early afternoon, however, the clouds started to break, with 
clearing moving in from the west, and this has allowed for a few more breaks
of sunshine.  The temperature has been on the cool side today, with a morning low
of 61F and an afternoon high so far of just 70F, which is well below the average 
high for this time of year of 81F.  The big story for the past day has been the 
very light wind speeds.  Yesterday saw a peak wind gust of just 13mph, and a 
fastest mile of just 9 mph.  Values this low are extremely rare here at the 
summit.  Today, winds have been light once again, with a peak gust so far of just
13mph, with the wind coming in off the water from the ENE.  This onshore wind, 
combined with the extensive cloud cover for much of the day, is what has kept the 
temperature cooler than normal so far today.
