BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY FRIDAY, JUNE 8, 2012 ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   YESTERDAY'S RAINFALL EVENT AMOUNTS TO 0.27 INCH DENSE EARLY MORNING FOG YIELDS TO MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES   Yesterday's rainfall event totaled 0.27 inch of rain here on the summit. Rumbles of thunder and small hail were heard/observed yesterday afternoon. Dense fog blanketed the summit this morning reducing visibility to only 1/16 mile. Around 9:30 EDT the fog began to lift increasing visibility back to around 60 miles. Moderate cumulus clouds have been developing and some of these clusters have the potential to become thunderstorms later this afternoon as a cold front drops down from Canada.   Our cool start to June continues, as we have yet another day of below normal temperatures. This streak will most likely end today however as temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s albeit a chance of showers later this afternoon. The latter part of this weekend looks nice as a high pressure system builds in from the southwest giving us mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the high 70s and even low 80s.   Today's observations:   7 A.M.
