BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2012  ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   TEMPERATURES HEATING UP THROUGH THE 80'S THE AIR MASS CONTINUES DRY WITH DEW POINTS IN 50'S SUNSHINE CONTINUES TO PREVAIL FOR A VERY SUNNY JULY   TEMPERATURES ON THE RISE AGAIN   Temperatures are rising into the upper 80's today but while things are heating up the air mass continue very dry with dew points in the 50's as has been the case during the past several warm days.   Our high reading today through 2 P.M. EDT was 88 degrees.   VERY SUNNY AND VERY DRY JULY TO DATE   July has not only been a very dry month to date but also a very sunny one. Through 11 days the 75% of possible bright sunshine is far above the average for the month which is 57%.  The record sunniest July was back in 1952 when this month had 75% of the possible bright sunshine.  That month was also the driest July on record with just 0.13 inch of rainfall.   WINDS SPEEDS CONTINUE TO BE WAY DOWN THIS MONTH   The average uncorrected wind speed is down to 8.8 MPH for the month continuing a decreasing wind average which has prevailed most of this year.   Today's observations:   7 A.M.
