BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA   DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2012  ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME   A PLEASANT DAY OF LOW HUMIDITY AS HAZY, HOT, AND HUMID CONDITIONS RETURN TOMORROW WINDS NEAR CALM THE ENTIRE DAY   Today will mark the 9th straight day of above normal temperatures; a much different start to the month when compared to June. The headline today is the lack of wind here on the summit, as the peak wind for today is only 15 mph and the average wind speed is only 5.7 mph! The last time the average wind speed was this low was actually about a month from today (June 7th), where the average wind speed for that day was only 5.5 mph corrected.   Aside from the wind, today started out clear, but has since become partly to mostly cloudy with cumulus clouds passing over the Observatory. Humidity has dropped off a lot since this morning, currently in the high 40s with dew points in the low 60s. Visibility has been about average for today, with Grand Monadnock just barely visible out to the NW.   Hot and humid conditions return tomorrow as temperatures will reach the low to mid 90s in most areas. Our daily maximum temperature of 97F (1908,1993) is in slight jeopardy of being tied or surpassed tomorrow, however chances are that it won't be broken. A cold front is expected to roll through tomorrow evening, bringing scattered thunderstorms to most regions, where some have the potential of becoming severe.     Today's observations:   7 A.M.
